Conestoga Pioneers Freshman Clinch Lead in Fifth Inning to Defeat Ridley
The Pioneers stole the lead late and defeated Ridley 5-3 on Wednesday. The game was tied at three with Stoga batting in the bottom of the fifth when Zack Zahlaway drew a walk, scoring a run and putting the Pioneers in the lead for good. Graham Marshal went yard in the sixth sealing the deal for the Pioneers.
No doubt the Freshman saw the ball extremely well on Wednesday racking up 11 hits on the day, with multiple hits from Marshall, Mayock and Schiff.
Jack Nudy was credited with the victory for the Pioneers. He surrendered three runs on six hits over six innings, striking out three. Will Gibbs threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
